12.10.13 New Obsessions!

12 10 Snow Day

I want to shout “EUREKA! I FOUND IT!” from the top of my snow covered roof over some of these finds, BUT I can’t considering others have found them before me. The last one is probably the one I am “latest to the party” on.

As they say, “Better late than never.” Right?

And just in case you

A.  haven’t showed up to the party

B. weren’t invited to the party

or

C. didn’t even know there was a party

I thought I would forward you the invite and tell you…YES IT’S A GOOD TIME! You should come!

* Sidenote- Now I really want to go to a party…

But I digress.

The Snow

I can only think of a handful of times that I have been in an area where snow actually stuck to the ground for more than 24 hours. We’ve had almost 36 hours of snow and I’ve been taking full advantage of it! I even built a little snowman by the name of Henry. I was just informed that less than 4 hours after his birth someone kicked him over. Look here Snowman Killer! Santa is watching and that is some NAUGHTY LIST SHIT! So don’t be surprised if you get coal this year.

Mint

Every year I claim I am going to get “financially squared away”. I’m going to come up with a plan to pay off credit cards, build a savings, etc. 2014 will be no different. This year I have a tool that might…just might…help me stick to my goal. Mint.com. IT’S AMAZING! I just downloaded it yesterday and am obsessed. You connect all of your credit cards, bank accounts, student loans, mortgages, etc to the site. The site reminds you when bills are due, informs you when you’re close to your limit or your balance is low, and helps you come up with a plan to reduce debt and save money. It’s a shock to see the number all of your credit card balances combined makes, BUT it’s also nice to have it all in one place!

If you are looking for a money manager in the form of a website/app, this is it!

Etsy Bracelet

I LOVE DANDELIONS! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I once made my dad hop out of the car at a quick stop light on Mass Ave (aka Embassy Row) to pick a dandelion I spotted in the grass. He did it. Because he’s awesome. So one day I was checking out Etsy and came across this bracelet that has dandelion wisps in a bead. $29.00….UMMM YES! I’ll take it! Just got it in the mail today and couldn’t be happier with it! Merry Christmas Me!

And the “latest to the party” obsession…The Grateful Dead.

I mean come on…I’m only a few years behind! How did I happen upon the Dead? My friend Dave invited me to a concert at the 9:30 Club. The Band- Dark Star Orchestra (a Grateful Dead Tribute Band). It was the first time I knowingly listened to the Grateful Dead’s music…and it was AWESOME! For whatever reason, in my head the Grateful Dead was a hardcore rock/metal band. I have no idea where I got that, but it’s just what I envisioned. Shocker! They are not! The music was awesome, the Deadheads were so much fun to watch and so easy going, and there was a certain aroma in the air that I really enjoy…I’ve always loved the smell. By the end of the night I officially became a fan!

What are you obsessed with this week? I’d love to know!
