Today I put in my 30 day notice to move out of the building I have been in for the past year and a half…the neighborhood I have lived in for over 3 years. This neighborhood has been responsible for many stories and memories…good, bad, interesting, exciting, sometimes even down right scandalous & not memorable (because of good ole District 2 Bar & Grille). Â Some of the best friends I have made in DC have been the direct effect of living in Cathedral Heights.
You may be asking, if you love this neighborhood so much why would you move out?
*Get ready for it….*
I’m moving in with my boyfriend.
Take a moment to have the “aweee that is so sweet” or “BROOKE RYAN MOVING IN WITH A GUY?!?!?!? WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO????” moment.
Yep…we’ve reached that point in our relationship. As Jim said on the phone today after I told him I officially put in my notice, “So I guess that means we’re pretty serious, huh?”.
Things I’ll miss about Living in my Hood
*The Rob’s & Rachel
*The 2 minute walk to District 2
*Sunday Night 2 Amy’s Pizza…(that’s really gonna suck).
*Looking out my window and seeing the National Cathedral.
*Hearing all the cars and hustle and bustle of the neighborhood each night as I went to sleep.
Things I wont miss
*Having to move my car at 7am every morning because it’s a no park zone on Wisconsin Ave between 7am-9:30am (and the night before there was no street parking in my neighborhood where I could actually leave it).
*Living in a 450 sq ft studio apartment! 2 bedrooms will be awesome!
*OH and not having a dishwasher! Definitely wont miss that!
I’m really looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I’m really looking forward to living with Jim. I’m really looking forward to having a guest room for people to stay in when they come to visit. Chateau Brooke is not closing…just relocating to Virginia.
Alexandria…HERE I COME!
And don’t worry…I’m bringing the Knight with me =)
