Out Of The Hood- Hard Rock Café (Chinatown)

I’m doing it. It’s part of my Lent Challenge. Get out of my neighborhood at least three times a week…and not to JR’s or Target (I frequent them like they are in my neighborhood). New places, new things, new experiences. Here’s to me migrating and falling in love with DC.

Thursday 2/23- Hard Rock Café (Chinatown)

Aly was hosting an event for Pink Jams (to benefit Breast Cancer awareness and research) at the Hard Rock. Did I necessarily want to go out? NOPE BUT I knew I needed to…and she was driving.

*Side note- Driving has been one of my biggest issues in this city and has been 1/3 of the reason I stay in my neighborhood. I HATE DRIVING in any city but especially here. It’s terrifying and when you find that perfect parking spot on the street you don’t want to lose it.

The event was great…I had a blast with Aly…I even made a complete ass of myself by thinking that a guy said “I’m a big fan of your work.” (I knew he was being funny because he knew what I did) and I responded in a joking tone “I know right! What can I say? So why are you in town?” That’s when I realized he said, “Im in town for work.” Not “I’m a big fan of your work”. Oopsies…but did it convince me that leaving my neighborhood was necessary…and exciting. Not really. It was a nice night…but nothing to write home to mom about. Still not giving up though.
