Some of My Best Friends Are Gay…& Married

Supreme Court

My profile picture is changed to an Equal Sign, I’m wearing Red, and yesterday I made my way to the Supreme court to support marriage for everyone.

There was a gay couple holding up a sign that said “We Just Got Married 3/26/13”, a daughter holding up a sign that said “My Parents are Gay”, and (I didn’t see this one in person but saw it online earlier this morning) my favorite sign “Inequality. Ain’t nobody got time for that!” There were also a lot of folks holding up negative signs…I’m not even going to touch on those because they DON’T DESERVE ANY OF MY *or anybody elses* attention!

In June, I had the honor of being the Flower Girl in “The Rob’s” (Robert and Rob) Wedding. It was one of the most beautiful and quite frankly one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to.

AND NO STRAIGHT PEOPLE WE’RE HARMED OR BOTHERED BECAUSE THEY TIED THE KNOT! Crazy right?

I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion and for whatever reason some people are REALLY offended that people love each other…I’m not. I support love. I support marriage. I support my parents, they have been married for 32 years (straight). I support The Robs, they have almost been married for a year (gay). I support Britney Spears Vegas Marriage to Jason Alexander that lasted 55 hours (yep…I just went there). I SUPPORT MARRIAGE EQUALITY.

I almost feel bad for those people that don’t support marriage equality… the way I felt bad for the Grinch when he was offended by Christmas and the Who’s celebrating. Maybe their hearts are 2 sizes too small.Hopefully hearts will grow, and like the ending of that movie, we can all come together over who-pudding and roast beast.

*Sidenote- Did you look at the picture of the Supreme Court closely? I couldn’t believe it! I’m assuming they are doing repairs or something but it’s like a Universal Studios Set! They had a screen with the image of the Supreme Court on it in front of the Supreme Court.

Their doing a facelift of the building to fix some cracks in the structure. Hopefully the Judges inside will take the hint and fix some of the cracks in the structure of the law concerning Equality.

  • I hope so too Dan!
